Hughes Manufacturing was founded in 1995 by owner Dale Hughes II. The business started as backyard shop project making Hunting Blinds
and Barbecue Pits. Living in a rural area surrounded by a farming community and coming from a farming family it was easy to see the need for a fabrication shop to meet the needs of local farmers. The fabrication of Crawfish Boats, Irrigation Products
and Ag Equipment
then proceeded, the company moved to a larger shop on the family farm and business grew exponentially from there. The business took up shelter in none-other than Grandfather Hughes' old equipment hangers on the Hughes Farm in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. And nothing could be more fitting, as the company grew larger and started in the fabrication of Land Levelers
and the "Laser Blade"
Drag Scrapers. Grandfather Maple Hughes, known as the "Pioneer of land leveling" in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana was the first to bring land leveling equipment to the area in the 1950's.
Before land leveling, the land in the area was uneven with small hills and mounds which decrease crop yields and make ground preparation difficult. It was only fitting that the third generation of Hughes' carry on the family tradition of land improvement!
Ever since, Hughes Manufacturing has continued to improve upon old tried and true technologies, building strong, durable, innovative equipment, built to last.
